The agreement has been signed for the creation of the UPM-Avintia Group University-Business Chair, which will be led by Professor David Mencías Carrizosa from our department. This Chair has been designed around three key pillars: the dissemination and generation of knowledge, the promotion of research and innovation (R&D&I), and technical training with hands-on experience. It is conceived as a driving force for the transformation of the traditional construction model, fostering industrialization as a means to improve the sustainability, efficiency and productivity of the sector.
The agreement also reinforces the commitment of both institutions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to the need for more environmentally friendly, technologically advanced construction that is aligned with new social and housing challenges.
